Welcome to the South Asian Bar Association of Washington!

SABAW is an organization of South Asian legal professionals in Washington State dedicated to providing access to legal resources and support for issues relevant to the South Asian community. SABAW is also committed to identifying and advancing the areas where economic, social and political interests intersect with South Asian legal issues, and we work to provide opportunities for law students in Washington to get involved in these areas alongside us.  SABAW serves as a liaison between South Asian legal professionals and the legal community at large. We strive to provide our members with education, opportunities to expand their personal networks and resources, and a platform for community outreach and involvement. We are an active branch of the North American South Asian Bar Association. Join us at our next event to learn more!

Thank you for a great SABAW Banquet!

We had a wonderful time and hope you did too! Here is a link to the pictures from the event, taken by our photographer Nitin Goyal.

This year, with your support, we raised over $15,000 for our scholarship program!!! The SABAW scholarship program funds public interest opportunities, provides stipends to offset the cost of law school, gives grants to attend the National South Asian Bar Association conference, and includes a funded legal internship at API Chaya, a grassroots nonprofit supporting South Asian survivors of domestic violence.

We would also like to thank our sponsors again for all of their support. Platinum sponsors: K&L Gates and PerkinsCoie; Silver sponsors: Cairncross & Hemplemann, Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson, Nintendo, DLA Piper, UW Center for Commercialization, and Starbucks; and our Friends of SABAW sponsors: Seattle Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs, Microsoft, Divatia Law, Davis Wright Tremaine, Orbit Law, Washington Defender Association, Stoel Rives, Watson Immigration Law, and Dorsey & Whitney.

Thanks again for a great year and we hope to see you at another SABAW event soon!
